I thought I would take a short break from Joomla SEO Tips Week and thought it would be neat to list some blog directories and directory submission services worth submitting your site to (in my opinion) – for traffic, better Google listings or reputation management.

First up directory submissions. Well this looks like a very slick operation – DirectoryMax – :) and allows you to submit over 1000 directories, and at the time of writing, each directory submission only costs 14c. You can’t really beat that.

I’ve picked blog directories that feature in Google, with a decent PR, and on the surface, a fairly strict submission process, and importantly in my opinion, blogs that don’t have random links to ‘sponsors’ etc which surely will devalue them (now, or in the future);

Ten links for you, with free submission, from blog directories that have high page rank (!), and rank well in Google, and on the surface, no crazy demands like actually telling you where you need to put their directory badge! Hope you found it useful.

Bonus – Niche directories and social networks are also a great way of promoting a site or blog. For instance, if you had a costumes store you might want to add your products to a costumes directory. You get the idea – find your niche.
