You know a lot of poeple type mispellings into Goolge - it is a source of traffic - and in order to rank for these common mis-spellings you’ve got to have them on your pqae or in links pionting to your page. Seemtmios it’s good to scerw things up, but hardly professional search engine optimizaion.
There are some ways you can rank for msipellnigs in Google without mkaing obvious mispellings on the page and maikng your page look msesy and unprofsesional.
Smoe search engien optimization people say you can put them in your meta kewyords, but I’ve not conclsuive poorf of this for msyelf. Of course, you can just make the seplling misatkes but….
I prefer to get my msipellnigs in the actual lniks that point to the page I’m trageting (with the correct sepllnig). Again I think it comes dwon to the quality and quantity or these links pointing to your page but I’ve seen it heppan pletny of times and carreid out a test recently which *seemed* to confirm it although Bill Slawski points out a possible way Google can handle mispellings under other circumstances.
We’re a search engine optimisation company in Scotland, by the way.

That hard thing about misspellings is where to put them. Do you put them in the webpage content? Do you put them in the meta tags. That is the toughest part.
I vote the keyword meta tag. Some say it isn’t indexed or even a relevant factor. My general feeling is that they should be used for misspellings.
