Google Japan Pagerank Penalty Lifted?
Blurb by Shaun Anderson (Hobo)(K9) It doesn’t seem that long ago when Google Japan had it’s Toolbar Pagerank penalised for paid blogger links (tsk tsk) which is against Google’s own rules.
Matt Cutts Twittered at the time:
Google.co.jp PageRank is now ~5 instead of ~9. I expect that to remain for a while. 4:01 PM Feb 11th, 2009 from web
Google Japan is now Pagerank 8 according to the toolbar (which was updated on Dec 31st 2009). Perhaps I am wrong but I think I checked this last month just for fun, and it was still 5, which means Google Japan’s pagerank must have returned to normal after the last update?
So, does this mean a Toolbar Pagerank penalty lasts 11 months? Or is that just if you are Google?

Very interesting thought. I remember when I heard about Google JP’s Penalty, but never thought it would least for so long.
