We are about to begin a new season of our X Box Friday League. That is since Jacks Lyon ended up at the top of the table last time. Congrats to him, but that is all behind us now. Lets move on.

We are setting off on a new frontier of our Fifa 09 club competition. A world away from last time.

That is because, for this season, we are adopting teams from the lower divisions. In a league that will make The Blue Square Premiership look like The UEFA Champions League.

The first thing we have to point out as always is, just who is playing as what club this time. Well here are the teams, chosen at random….

Rodger was picked to play as Bournemouth.
Marty was picked as Bradford City
Jack is Brentford
Shaun is Chesterfield
Michael is Gillingham
Chris is Lincoln City
Alan is Luton Town

The season began with Yours Truly truly having a baptism of fire. The first game saw my Barnet tied against Marty’s Bradford City and what a hair raising match it turned out to be.  Let’s just say they made short work of me.

All in all, Barnet were pretty cut up. I may have eked out a goal less draw against Chris , but I suffered defeats to both Michael and Jack. In the first game, Gillingham, I have to admit, scored three great goals, one of them a bicycle kick.
Michael though also wet through a defeat and a goal less draw with Chesterfield, so you cant have everything.

The less said about my game against Brentford the better. He scored four, one was put in the net by his goal keeper, who ran through my team as if he were a Democratic presidential candidate, and that was one of the good points.

It looks like I am in for a long season.

However, I wasn’t the only player that suffered some misfortune.

Rodger’s Bournemouth didn’t exactly have a day at the beach.  He also suffered a defeat to Jack (see a pattern forming?), whom had four players booked and two sent off (see another pattern forming?). Rodger fought valiantly against Marty though, so he may yet find his feet.

Chris` Lincoln City is battling his way to the top with some brilliant results.

Shaun’s Chesterfield began their campaign with some choice draws.

Luton Town though is yet to play.
