Just some of the questions I get asked all the time, and it kind of gets tiring answering the same stuff over and over again – especially when the enthusiastic Q&A How To Blog session with Fav Clients culminates in, well, no actual action clientside lol 
But once again one of the ladies at Outspoken Media (they do blog consulting too) have come up with a great post for those bloggers who are just starting out and stuck for ideas what to blog about.

We've recently updated our comments policy and increased the number of comments a visitor has to make to get seo friendly links in comment signatures to reward long term readers and make it a bit harder for dofollow spammers ;) - I told you dofollow spamming wasn't a long term strategy....
That is quite a good list with lots of ideas to digest. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been reading along for a while and found your custom link love plugin interesting (which I even thought of blogging about) but when I used it on my blog, the new comment is linked automatically instead of being unlinked until it reaches the minimum number of comments which it was supposed to do. This maybe not be inline with the post above but since you’re too busy to answer emails, I’d thought of may be going this route instead.
I have a few blogs. I have a family blog based in wordpress where I write no real text but just have a few comments for all the photos I have uploaded for family and friends. I have stopped this blog being indexed by Google because whilst it is on the net I am not keep to get to the top of the rankings! Another blog I have is about my hobby and it has a set audience who know the link but can also search in Google. It is of no interest to anyone other than that small segement. I cannot be turned into a profit making machine because there is nothing to sell and nothing to advertise (well I could use google Adwords but the people going there are not going to be sucked into reading about how to lose weight. Then I have a few business blogs where the aim is to get to the top of google! For that blog I do everything I can and install all the plugins and do all the usual things. But when I post comments I try and put some effort in and some keywords for Google and also unique text. I just wish all the people spamming my blog would convert and write something useuful like this!
Blog about whatever you want… but have a target audience in mind.
