So, here we go again sports fans. Another scintillating, nail biting, nerve shredding, palm sweating, action packed week of X Box Friday. An unpredictable, emotional roller coaster ride, if there ever was one!

Although, it has to be said, I thought last weeks fixtures took some beating. Croatia scored the greatest goal. While being the victim, it has to be said, of a few questionable decisions.

Italy and Brazil played with fire and passion.

Holland,  England and Russia had some fine play. While, Germany eked out more results.

However, we still wait for the moment, when somebody wipes that smug grin off Argentina’s face. We haven’t given up all hope.

The revelaton of the week though, came from Hobo Webs newest team member. Jack, as Turkey, turned out,on his first week of playing,to be something of a natural. With about the greatest debut since Connery first played Bond. Although, his enthusiasm sometimes got the better of him. What with having had a couple of guys sent off. But hey, what can you do?

So, after the excitement of last week, I was all geared up for this Fridays fixtures. Which started off with a thriller, when Portugal played Croatia. They took a shot from 35 yards, but “questionable defence” cost them a goal.

Italy played with their usual fire. Although, at one point, it looked like turning into a raging inferno. But hey, that’s passion for you.

Holland and Brazil played with great skill. While Turkey, despite a slightly jarring, bumpy patch, showed us that last week was no fluke.

As for Germany, we saw an end to our unbeaten streak. While still trudging out the draws.I feel as if I have had more draws than Rolf Harris, and just the same as when I go out to a night club. I wonder if I’m ever going to score.

The Argentinians may have played with their usual cynical style. (Although,it has to be said,Turkey gave them a run for their money). And The Croatians exhibited great skill.

A special mention should go though to the English.Jim came back from a heavy defeat (5-1. Ouch!). However, having pretty much subbed his whole team, from then on, he just got better. Culminating in a goal against Argentina which they should put on a DVD.

Here is this weeks overview of how everybody did.

  1. Goal Of The Day -Croatia V Germany. I have to be honest and say it was Michael’s goal against yours truly. Darn it!
  2. Game Of The Day - I had considered Brazil V Italy. But Turkey V Argentina had the edge.
  3. Player Of The Week - I would love to nominate Jim. But, I`d have to say Shaun. I hate to admit it, but, his victories as Argentina were pretty impressive.
  4. Most Improved - Jim.
  5. Best Moan - Joint Title
Marty. I haven’t seen the Italians as irate as that, since they hung Mussolini from a lamp post.
Micheal. With all due respect, but Croatia sometimes feel like the Oliver Stone of football. They see conspiracies everywhere.
  6. Best Impression Of A Young Girl Crying - Rodger. You haven’t seen Russians as dejected since The Battle Of Stalingrad.
  7. Most Cynical Fouling -Shaun. Jack was in the running. As was Chris. (Two men sent off in one game?) But Shaun’s fouling was just plain annoying.

If you would like to check out how the league table shapes up,then why don’t you have a butchers?

So,there you have it. All in all,it was a great weeks football. Some may say that our X Box league makes the Vauxhall Conference look like The Justice league, but, I don’t care. I happen to think that that it`s ace.

Besides, things couldn’t get much worse than Marty’s game against Scott. Two missed open goals and a blown penalty. Hang your head in shame!

At the end of the week guess who’s back on top….
