So let me get this straight “Manitowoc ice machine” – you don’t understand the post, you don’t understand English, you don’t realise I’m slagging off dofollow list spammers, but you still leave a comment…. and you still try and get an anchor text link from my site? Read the post again and see if this time you get what I mean. Dofollow. Spammer.

i hate spammers. my blogs are dofollow too, but sometimes i think shall i just not enable it.

luckily i make sure i moderate all my comments, but it is irritating im with you there!

@Shaun: I had converted my blogs to dofollow long time ago and with the recent demise of nofollow (if I can use that phrase), I decided to switch all my blogs to dofollow. I have a policy of either removing URL when I see a decent comment using keywords in name, sometimes I also change the name to ‘keyword spam’ and remove URL. In case it was outsourced, the actual website owner can see that their partners were spamming.

@Phill: I think you are being paranoid about banning India. I am active on many blogs, I subscribe to 200+ blog feeds, and participate in discussions. Not to mention the guest posts that I make on many blogs. Why am I mentioning this? I am from India and as much as I agree that a lot of spam originates from India (and other countries you mentioned), I will say there are still some genuine people out there

Getting back to the topic, Dofollow blogs are from bloggers that understand that every comment means new content added to the blog.

Comment spammers REALLY piss me off. I’m getting totally bored with their antics.

I also hate the human people who feel the need to fill the “name” box with multiple keywords. On my blogs, if its not what is on your birth certificate, or something very close, then its getting removed.

Several times I’ve had to check my own sites to make sure it didn’t actually say “spam your keywords here”, and every time its not been that. I pity the fools whose “seo” tactics revolve around these tactics.

One way around is to simply block all Indian, Malaysian and Philippines IP’s from commenting.

I feel a Top 100 Best Spam Comments of all Time post coming on…

I wake up to 25 of the same spams in a bunch of my posts. Yeah, sure I will approve that.

I use the comments to find interesting people in the areas I find interesting. Slow network building, but with more people then I could ever before.

I don’t understand why all those spammers waste their(and our) time trying to build links that do not pass any PR(and almost 85% of which are deleted anyway)
