Stumbleupon is a great resource for getting “eyes on site” so to speak. Writing a decent article can get you a traffic spike of 50-100 visitors. Writing an exceptional article can get you thousands of visitors a day.

Talking as a user - Apart from writing unique and useful info for Stumblers, ensure your site downloads fast! If it fails to load (almost instantly) stumblers like myself are just to tempted to hit that stumble button again - there’s just too much good stuff out there on the web for us to hang about!
