Google Wave Invites Tsunami Begins Today
Blurb by Shaun Anderson (Hobo)Have you heard about Google Wave? From what we’ve seen, this could very well revolutionise development and co-operation for techie folks and today Google begins to roll out Google Wave to more developers, just as they did Gmail.
Google will widen access to its innovative communications platform Wave, offering 100,000 new invitations to use the service. Many of these people in turn will be allowed to invite others to join as well, reminiscent of how GMail propagated. (It’s wise for Google to allow these new users to invite friends and family because you effectively can’t use Wave without contacts on the system.) Those who will gain full access tomorrow will apparently be developers, early users who provided feedback and some Google Apps customers. SEL
How do you get an invite? Google Wave will be rolled out to various folks – the chances of getting an invite is pretty limited!
Starting Wednesday, September 30 we’ll be sending out more than 100,000 invitations to preview Google Wave to:
- Developers who have been active in the developer preview we started back in June
- The first users who signed up and offered to give feedback on wave.google.com
- Select customers of Google Apps
We’ll ask some of these early users to nominate people they know also to receive early invitations — Google Wave is a lot more useful if your friends, family and colleagues have it too. This, of course, will just be the beginning. If all goes well we will soon be inviting many more to try out Google Wave. Google
I have big hopes for this thing when I get access to it (whenever that is!). Many think this will be a direct competitor to Facebook and Twitter communications… we’ll see.
PS – Feel free to send me a Google Wave invite if you get one lol
Did you know when you link to a Hobo SEO post we have search engine friendly links back to your site if approved? Our comments are also search engine friendly you know (once you've commented on a few posts)! Do you need any more encouragement to get involved in the conversation ;)

Thanks for the heads-up. Will check out the video.
Will also be keen to see how this blog post fares in SERPS in light of this morning’s Tsunami in the Samoas….
one hour and twenty minute video… sorry, don’t have the time.
I would like to learn more about this. Too bad I didn’t get an invitation. Why would I? I never even heard of this until today.
Cool I haven’t came across it yet but hopefully everything works out for the best..
Hope I get an invite Google Wave *could* be revolutionary. It certainly has some excellent features.
