Scotland’s Award Winning SEO Company?
Posted by Michael Bonnar
After ‘winning’ the regional (Scotland) Top SEO Company competition held by NorthSouthMedia last year, it appears we have been voted the 4th best seo company in the UK (2nd month in a row), by top SEOs.
Shaun doesn’t put much truck in such awards, especially ones that don’t list him first, but it’s better than being ignored, or on a crap seo company list.
Shaun’s more excited by the recent conference speaking we did at the Irish IWTC and is especially excited at presenting at the upcoming SEOClass in Edinburgh in June 2008. I am considering going, but not sure if I could put up with two whole days of ninja seo geek fights!
It must be awards season because this SEO company been put forward for and/or asked to enter a number of awards in the few weeks, too.
- Hobo has been put forward for the Local Chamber Of Commerce Bees Knees Awards 2008 (we were runners up last year)
- Hobo’s Shaun has been put forward for A Local Business Legend Award (!) - God knows how that came about
- Hobo is being put forward for the Renfrewshire Business Awards - The Rocco Awards
- The company has been contacted and asked to register for The National Business Awards For Scotland 2008 in The Marketing Strategy of the Year Award category, which is nice. Although we found out this costs £125+VAT to register and I passed this info to Shaun:
I’m not paying £125 for no f***ing award
…so I will probably give that one a miss.
The last two years have been fantastic for us, and our clients. It was our birthday recently - two years old on April Fools Day 2008. We’ve still not spent a penny advertising due to referrals and using the blog.
Shaun has demanded I take more of an interest in writing for the blog, if only to give a “suit’s’ view of working at the coolest search marketing company in Scotland. He wants to turn it into a multi-author blog.
Yes, I don’t get much respect around here. I’m;
the effin’ ‘bean counter’ around here who only gets in the way of the creative team
(although I do get a good idea now and again)….. anyway on wages day I’m usually pretty popular, I have to say.
So, I will be posting a bit more regularly, I’ve been told, and so have you now.

Thanks for visiting the Hobo Blog! Why not subscribe to our Feed for free internet marketing tips, we're publishing one tip a day in July! We really welcome any feedback on our articles, so don't be scared to leave a comment either!

It’s good to see such a good ‘white-hat’ SEO company get the recognition it deserves.
