Ignore Google Webmaster Guidelines
Yes i know – strange, eh? Normally we would NEVER tell you that, but Google says if you have a new website and you want to get into Google:
Submit it to Google at http://www.google.com/addurl.html. Submit it to Google at http://www.google.com/addurl.html.
Following webmaster guidelines from Google etc isn’t the only way to get into Google. It has been long accepted that it never hurts to let Google (and all the other search engines like Yahoo, MSN and ASK) find your site – without you telling them! For example, we’ve never used this service, and we are in Google…
All you need to do is add your site to a quality search engine friendly directory or even better get a leading website in your sector to link to you (basically, you should be trying to get as many quality links to your site as possible). Within time Google and the other engines will find and eventually index your site if it meets their quality guidelines.
PS – Make sure you follow every one of Google’s other guidelines and recommendations!

Yes i think you are right.
It’s better that spiders find links to our site than submitting the url to the “submit your URL to Google” form.
The only Google webmaster guideline you can flout !
Forums are a good way to get your site noticed. Add a link to your site in your forum signature, and Google will take notice of it pretty fast, if the forum itself is of high authority.
