Google Latitude 1 Million Users In 1 Week

Google Latitude reportedly got one million users in it’s first week of launch. I really wish I had the time to check out everything Google launches, but there you have it.

According to an item published in FierceMobileContent,

more than a million wireless subscribers had signed up for Google’s new mobile friend finder Latitude in its first week according to Vic Gundotra, Google’s vice president of engineering.

Gundotra was a speaker on a panel at Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.

What Is Google Latitude?

From Google about Latitude:

See where your friends are on a map

With Google Latitude, you can:

  • See where your friends are and what they are up to
  • Quickly contact them with SMS, IM, or a phone call
  • Control what your location is and who gets to see it

Enjoy Google Latitude on your phone, PC, or both.

Big Brother has landed as if it hadn’t already.

  1. I don’t know, man. This really freaks me out.
There isn’t a single person on the face of this earth that I deem so vital to my existence that I want to know where they are at any given moment. I think anyone who needs this level of constant contact or awareness has real issues, and should find their therapist with Latitude.

  2. I think Google Latitude is an amazing creation. It helps me track my kids since I can use it on my phone. Gives moms like me more peace of mind, seriously!

  3. Car Leasing says:

Lattitude is a bit scarey for me
