It looks like we’ll be able to buy an iphone at Tesco this Christmas :)

Is an iPhone price war about to break out? After Vodafone and Orange bagged the iPhone – after O2’s two year monopoly expired in September – we learn today that Tesco, the UK supermarket leviathan, is to sell the iPhone on Tesco Mobile, its MVNO joint venture partnership with O2. Techcrunch

The BBC confirms Iphones might be available to buy before Christmas 2009 too.

Supermarket giant Tesco has joined a growing number of UK firms offering Apple’s popular iPhone. A spokesperson for the firm said that it hoped to offer the phone “in time for Christmas”.

There’s even a pre-regsitration website Tescomobileiphone.com – more details shortly but it’s a cool development – and will no doubt fuel sales of the apple iphone this year (understatement).
